Performances:
Supreme star Sai Dharam Tej showed his full energy in this character. He impressed with his delightful dances and stunning stunts. He put in lot of effort and his hard work for his role as professional jockey in this film. Rakul Preet Singh impresses as an athlete. Jagapathy Babu attracted in father’s role with his emotional performance. He looked stylish in his role. Thakur Anoop Singh looked cruel as a villain. He gave good competition to Sai Dharam Tej in the horse riding scenes. Vennela Kishore attracted to some extent with his typical comedy and mannerisms. 30 years Prudhvi Raj attracted with his comedy first half. Ali attracted as horse man with his comedy in the second half. Suresh, Mukesh Rishi, Raghu Babu, Sonia Agarwal, Kalyani and others performed according to their roles.
Analysis:
Gopichand Malineni who directed Don seenu, Body guard, Balupu, Pandaga chesko movies earlier and now he came with regular routine commercial entertainer. He attracts with few comedy scenes and romantic love track in the first half. His screen-play and direction are not so bad. Story of Veligonda Srinivas has nothing new. Horse racing scenes shot in Turkey are the highlight in the film.
Technical Values:
SS Thaman’s music is just okay. Sitara song is shot in a beautiful manner. Anasuya’s special number Suya Suya disappoints. Background score is good. Chota K Naidu’s cinematography is excellent. He added extra grandeur to the film with his camera work. Songs are picturised well. AS.Prakash’s art work is good. Pravin Pudi’s editing could have been better and he had chance to cut few scenes in both half's. Few dialogues of Abburi Ravi like ‘Bandham kosam pantam vadulukuntam kani..pantam kosam bandham vadulukolem’ are good. Production values of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Productions are rich.
Thumbs up:
- Sai dharam tej
- Few comedy bits
Thumbs Down:
- Dragged narration
- Second half
- Routine story
- Predictable screenplay
Final Verdict:
Winner is a regular routine mass oriented commercial format film. First half fills with entertainment by vennala kishore and prudhvi raj scenes and ends on a happy note. Second half is dragged predictable screen-play and drama. Overall Winner is an avoidable film totally.
