Behind The Screens:

Manchu Manoj who is in back to back failures with films like Shourya, Attack and now he decided to test his luck with powerful mass entertainer Gunturodu. Let us see what impact the film made on movie lovers.

Story:

Kanna (Machu Manoj) is brought up in the most affectionate manner by his dad Suryanarayana (Rajendra Prasad) in Guntur. Kanna leads his life happily but his intolerance towards injustice find him fighting with criminals. However Kanna starts changing completely after falling in love with Amrutha (Pragna Jaiswal). But he will be in for a shock as her brother, Seshu (Sampath) bays for his blood. To findout the rivalry between Seshu and Kanna and the twists and turns in his love life, watch Gunturodu in big screens.

Performances:

Manchu Manoj looked similar like the way he used to be in his earlier films. His performance is on similar lines. He gave his full energy in stunts. He attracted in emotional and romantic scenes. He tried to imitate his father Mohan Babu in few scenes. He must reduce his weight. Pragya Jaiswal sizzled with her red hot beauty on screen. Sampath Raj attracted with his powerful performance. His mannerisms, bodylanguage, and diction elevated the role. Rajendra Prasad performed well. Rao Ramesh did a small role in the climax. Kota Srinivasa Rao is okay in his role. Mega Star Chiranjeevi’s voice over is the highlight. Others like Praveen, Pruthvi and Kasi Vishwanath played their roles according to the story.

Analysis:

SK.Satya’s story has nothing new and right from the start to finish has routine format. Some directors narrate even routine entertainers in an interesting manner but SK.Satya followed routine template. He concentrated on showing Manchu Manoj in mass angle.

Technical values:

DJ.Vasanth’s music is okay. Chinna’s background score is nothing new. Siddharth Ramaswamy’s cinematography is attractive. Stunts are well choreographed. Dialogues are okay. Production values are good.

Thumbs Up:
- Sampath raj
- Stunts

Thumbs Down:
- Second half
- Routine mass story
- Love track
- Flat narration

Final verdict:

Gunturodu is mass masala movie.
First half is not bad and interest increase with powerful interval bang. Second half, however turns routine once again and though pre-climax generates interest, director disappoints with the poor climax.

Skip this movie strictly.

Rating: 1.75/5
