Behind the Screens:

Tollywood creative director krishna vamsi is going through a very lean patch of career.  He is joining hands with Sundeep Kishan and Sai Dharam Tej who are also desperately in need of big hits with ‘Nakshatram’. Let us see how the movie, ‘Nakshatram’??

Story-line:

Rama Rao (Sundeep Kishan) hails from a Police family and aspires to join the department. He never tolerates a word on the department. One day, he gets into a fight with Commissioner’s son, Rahul (Tanish) as the latter beats a Policeman. Rahul ensures that Rama Rao does not get placed. Disappointed Rama Rao tries to commit suicide but realizes in the last minute, once can serve justice even without being a Police. But then Rama Rao lands himself in a Bomb Blast Case. What happens next in his life forms the next.

Performances:

Actors always treat Krishna Vamsi’s film as a milestone in actor's careers as the director is known to project the best in them. Sundeep Kishan impresses as a mass guy and also did a decent performance in emotional scenes. Sai Dharam Tej is good in a 30 minutes role. Regina cassandra is only limited to glamour while Pragya Jaiswal also got to perform some action along with skin show. Prakash Raj, JD Chakravarthy, Sivaji Raja and Raghu babu are good in the roles.

Analysis:

Krishna Vamsi’s last film released three years ago i.e govindhudu andarivadele which is flop at boxoffice and ‘Nakshatram’ is important film for his career. He disappointed with his screenplay and direction. He lost his charm as he is famous in. The lack of clarity and depth in characterizations which ensured that the audience is not involved in the story. The director touched the actual story only in the second half. Even though the pre-climax and climax portions are impressive, the experience is disappointing as a whole.

Technical Values:

Music is okay and are glamorously shot. Mani Sharma's background score is impressive as usual but loud. Camera work is disappointing all through with heavy colors. Editor had chance to trim few scenes. The Production Values are appropriate.

Thumbs Up:

- Concept

- Climax

Thumbs Down:

- Camera work

- Dubbing

- Runtime

- Screenplay

- Treatment of Characterizations

Final Verdict:

Nakshatram has crime, love, addiction and Patriotism like his previous films but is not blended impressively.

Krishna Vamsi has come up with an honest concept but the screen-play and treatment of the characters is totally disappointing.

Yet another disappointment film from director krishna vamsi

Bottom-line: Chukkalu Chupinchina 'Naksathram'

Story, Screenplay, Direction: Jayanth C Paranji
Producer: Ashok Kumar K
Music: Mani Sharma
Cinematographer: Jawahar Reddy
Editor: Marthand K Venkatesh
Banner: Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Art Creations
Censor certificate: UA
Runtime:122 minutes
Release Date: June 30th, 2017
Watched at Anna theater, Mehdipatnam

Behind the Screens:

Andhra Pradesh HRD Minister, Ganta Srinivasa Rao’s son, Ravi is making his filmy debut with a Police Drama titled ‘Jayadev’ which was directed by Jayanth C Paranji who delivered super hits Preminchukundam Raa, Bavagaru Bagunnara, Premante Idera, Eeshwar, Lakshmi Narasimha, Shankar Dada MBBS etc earlier. Debutant Ravi had pinned high hopes on the film to make his mark in the film industry. Let us see how the movie is??

Story-line:

Jayadev (Ganta Ravi) is an honest Police Officer in Dosakayala Palli. A Police Officer Sriram (Ravi Prakash) gets killed and Jayadev is made in-charge of the case. It will be revealed that Sriram is killed for nailing down a goon, Masthan Babu (Vinod Kumar). Rest of the story is all about how Jayadev brings Masthan Babu behind the bars and do justice to Sriram’s family.

Performances:

Ganta Ravi is okay in action sequences. He should work on his looks. He needs to work out for rest of things like emotional, comic and humor scenes. He needs to improve his expressions. Since it is his first film, we may give him just pass marks. Heroine Malavika Raaj is limited for songs only. Vinod Kumar gets a crucial role after a long time and he is not apt to that role. Vennela Kishore, Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao, Theenmar Satti, Ravi Prakash, and Siva Reddy are okay in the roles.

Analysis:

Director Jayanth C Paranji failed in all aspects. His screenplay and direction are bad. He failed with the bad story execution. The movie seems to be inspired by Tamil film, ‘Sethupathy’. The director tried to stay as honest as possible to that. The love track is badly handled. Some of the scenes which speak about the greatness of the police department have come out well. He failed to get good performances from artists.

Technical Values:

Mani Sharma’s music is total disappoint. Background score is impressive. Jawahar Reddy's camera work is just okay. Editor Marthand K Venkatesh had a chance to trim few scenes in the first half especially. Fights composition is good. The Production Values of Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Art Creations look very good.

Thumbs up:
- Preclimax

Thumbs Down:
- Hero
- Bound Script
- Direction
- Bad execution
- Music

Final Verdict:
JayaDev film is all about powerful cop story.
The first half is nothing to offer. Sriram’s murder and the incidents that follow it are a bit interesting. The second half of the film is very boring with nothing interesting. Preclimax is good.
Strickly skip this movie.
